Spider Veins

Spider veins are small, thin, and twisted blood vessels that appear just below the surface of the skin. They are most commonly found on the legs and can be red, blue, or purple in color. Spider veins are usually harmless, but they can be unsightly and may cause discomfort or aching in some people.

This condition occurs when the valves in the veins become weak or damaged and can be a sign of underlying circulatory problems caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, pregnancy, hormonal changes, obesity, standing or sitting for long periods of time.

How can we treat it?

Here at BodyLab we offer microsclerotherapy as a cosmetic treatment option for spider veins. However, it’s important to note that while microsclerotherapy can effectively reduce the appearance of spider veins, it is not a treatment for the underlying cause of the condition.

Lifestyle changes, such as regular exercise, weight management, and avoiding prolonged periods of sitting or standing, may help improve circulation and reduce the risk of developing new spider veins.

Microsclerotherapy

A minimally invasive treatment for spider veins on the legs. It involves injecting a specialised solution into the affected veins, causing them to collapse and fade over time.
